I always felt it was a shame that that series wasn't better handled. I liked some of the stories, but many felt like by-the-numbers back up features... Imagine what a great job they could do with such a series today, however. Especially given the number of Titans running around without monthly appearances!Jim Roeghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16381244745309535742noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13604760.post-1129213771388135792005-10-13T10:29:00.000-04:002005-10-13T10:29:00.000-04:00Jim - thanks for the suggestions. This was just a teaser to indicate that I hadn't gone totally awol. The first order of business will be dissecting New Teen Titans #38.

As for a highlights tour of the old New Teen Titans, I'd recommend any single issues between roughly issues 21-50. These are very strong stories and the series never quite reaches this creative peak again imo, though the Titans Hunt stories near the end of the second Baxter series are excellent.

I don't really recommend the "Who Is Donna Troy" TPB that DC recently released because I don't actually like the retcon of Donna's origin from NTT (2nd series) 50-55--at least not that much.

The Judas Contract TPB is excellent (a good place to start) and so is the Trigon TPB (reprinting NTT, second series, 1-5). DC has finally started up the archive editions, reprinting the series from #1, but these are way too expensive for casual sampling!Jim Roeghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16381244745309535742noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13604760.post-1129127729621930952005-10-12T10:35:00.000-04:002005-10-12T10:35:00.000-04:00Jim, good to see you've sort of maybe returned. I've been missing the write-ups and my own efforts have gone to pot for the time being.

I never bought an old Titans comic so I don't get any of what's going on with Donna Troy. I know nothing about her so most of this is lost on me. Any suggestions on where I should start to look in order to get a "highlights tour" of the old New Teen Titans? I want the equivalent of the two week European tour that hits ten countries.joncormierhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00865627865285684437noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13604760.post-1129058519064973522005-10-11T15:21:00.000-04:002005-10-11T15:21:00.000-04:00Jhunt: RDT fan-wanking satisfying to old-timer Tit...Jhunt: RDT fan-wanking satisfying to old-timer Titans fans? I could see why the fan-wanking could be satisfying to old-timer Titans fans or to mulitverse fans (of which I am one), but story execution wise?
